AVIATION      HISTORY

Since the Wright brothers first flew in 1903, people have
created a multitude of aircraft types.
But every one of them has dealt with the same
four forces--lift, weight, thrust, and drag.
And every one has had to deal
with the challenges of stability and control too.

Flying faster than sound has its own special demands,
but the underlying forces remain the same

Aviation History -- Did You Know?
1942 -- The Bell Aircraft Company built the first jet airplane in the United States. It was flown by Robert M. Stanley at Muroc Dry Lake, California.
